Haryns Farm demanded strategic choices. You have based the
production of your horse breeding on criteria of competition and
genetic quality. Could you explain your motivations ?
Haryns
Here at
Haryns we have tried, like any breeder, to bring together all
the elements that would lead us to success. Our breeding farm is
focused on competition. We must improve our breeding stock with
a view to this goal.

You
interbreed a lot with French saddle horses; you invest in
quality stock. Does your success in pony competitions depend on
these stock choices ?
Haryns
I am convinced that we must apply the
same criteria for successfully breeding sport horses to breeding
ponies :
Excellent stock
Crossbreeding with performer stallions
Applying professionalism to horse breeding
In my opinion, these are the factors that lead to
success and that we are trying to apply.

Can you give us a sports history
of Thunder du Blin and several of your competing offspring ?
Haryns
Our experience in exploiting Thunder du Blin naturally
extended into breeding and has influenced our objectives and
actions. This excellent stallion actively participates in
improving and changing our pony stock and has been bought by
Haras Nationaux, (National Horse Breeding Farms) thanks to
Emmanuelle Bour. Click on Products on our website and you’ll
see all the offspring from Thunder and Galienny, another
stallion from our own production. This link shows all the
competition information as well as the results by these horses
and by our breed offspring. Every year we make available to our
clients 5 covering cards for Thunder du Blin, do not hesitate to

Many years of effort and investment are
necessary to create a breeding farm for competition horses. What
challenges do you face in the coming years ?
Haryns
To continue our work, as horse breeding takes a long time. In
addition to our pony breeding, to which we are very attached, we
would like to develop French saddle horse breeding and focus
some of our efforts on this venture.
Moreover, Haryns Farm needs partners in preparing our offspring
for competition and we are open to any serious proposals of
collaboration.
