THUNDER DU BLIN, was sold as a colt to the pony club of La Pommeraie (78). We acquired him in January of 1990, when he was 5 years old. Our objective was to make him a high-performance stallion, which is very common in the racehorse field but quite unusual for ponies.Thunder du Blin started remarkably well in international competitions, mounted by Caroline Nicolas and during his first years as a saddle horse in the private sector, at the farms of Michel Pelissier at La Fontaine (61), a well know breeder, who bred I Love You and Alligator Fontaine. In 1996, Thunder was sold to the Haras Nationaux, a sale spearheaded by Emmanuelle Bour, who director of the Breviaires breeding farms (78).
This interest in a high-performance pony stallion on the part of the administration is a new step and is responsible for the change in the public sector and the world of pony breeding in the past 10 years. THUNDER DU BLIN, connemara, grey, 1,45m, born in 1985, winner of the Grand Prix in Marolles in Brie and in Bourges in 1991. In 1992, at 7, he won the International Pony Jumping Competition in Diest, Belgium. The same year, he was 4^th in the French Championship in jumping Competition Grand Prix, 14^th in the individual final competition in the show jumping European Championship in Stockholm, Sweden, and 8^th in the International Pony Jumping Competition in Donaueschingen, Germany. Regional champion in Ile-de-France in 1993. He won many distinctions in national and international Grand Prix competitions in 1992 and 1993.

His sire KING CUP RC is the son of the famous Island Earl, father of many winners in pony and horse competitions, such as Irish of Sligo (2^nd by team at the European championship 19850, Jolicoco de Ravary (bronze medal by team in the European championship 1981 and 1982 – silver medal by team in 19850, Quiproquo III, saddle horse, ISO 159 (94).
KING CUP RC is considered one of his best offspring; he died prematurely and left few but high quality offspring, among which are 6 national and private stallions :

His dam FORT HELEN was imported in 1973 after being supreme Connemara champion at the Dublin competition.
She produced 7 stallions, the most famous one being Thunder du Blin (international performer). She is also the dam of Sunset du Blin, winner in obstacle course and dressage and of My Song of Ravary, dam of Scoty de la Dreche, winner in dressage.
His 2^nd dam Fort Lady is the dam of stallions : Brogeen and Fort Doolin, who is the sire of winners and was declared supreme champion of Connemaras at the Clifden National in 1981. She is also the dam of Fort Sheila, who produced Joyau du Thuit, winner in dressage.
